Summary: Obi-Wan Kenobi has never known it, but he has always been the Force’s Champion, destined to suffer infinite sadness in defense of the Light. On his last turn on the wheel, responsibility for The Chosen One, the false child of prophecy, had been thrust upon him with no warning, and Darkness held the upper hand.
But this time, the Force has marshaled its power and will protect its Champion until the time is right, no matter how long Obi-Wan has to wait and how much he has to suffer.
Or,
Obi-Wan is reborn as a twelve-year old.
He wakes up on a slavers’ ship, with all of his prior life’s memories intact, and he’s bound for Tatooine with a Force-inhibitor collar around his neck, a bomb implanted in his spine, and no way of knowing what state of the Galaxy is in.
Just another day in the life of the Force’s Champion.
Chapter Summary: Yoda is having visions. Yoda needs to go to Tatooine.
Yoda goes to Tatooine.
In the meanwhile. Obi-Wan has a feeling that something’s about to happen.

As always, I am deeply grateful for all the love you’ve given this story, the outpouring of comments on the last chapter - the guessing on where the story is heading - makes me so very happy.

Decent writing week, about 8k, including another lightsaber fight. I hate writing lightsaber fights. I hate writing action. But this one was necessary, and I do like how it turned out, it was plot-essential.
And then I got to write some emotional hurt/comfort afterwards. So that’s always good. Pity you won’t get to see it for another six months.
cue Evil Author cackling
Shit Starts To Happen
I can officially say this is the chapter when the big stuff begins. When a lot of the plot threads I’ve laying out - the warp of the fabric, so to speak - get woven by the weft of the character action.
(Now isn’t that a nice weaving analogy?)
Things aren’t going to slow down for a while. Even though this chapter is less than 4k, it feels like it’s a lot more - a lot of things happen. Characters travel, scenes change, we learn stuff.
Midi-Chlorians
I’m with Yoda on this one, having a scientific explanation for a connection to The Force really stinks. I hate it. I remember watching TPM and thinking WTF??? I still haven’t forgiven George for this bit of stupidity. But I’ve got to deal with the hand I’m given and so I’m got to have my Little Green Troll editorialize as much as possible.
Also, there’s (not surprisingly) little canonical information about midi-chlorians. The Sith manipulations is not going to be relevant here, but it’s all a bit of a loose and seat of your pants magical system. So I’m making shit up as I go (like George did, and the powers that be at Disney are doing).
Midi-chlorians are not immortal, but Obi-Wan’s are. Because Obi-Wan is Special. Super Special. As the summary to this fic says, he’s The Force’s Champion.
What that means is going to be very interesting.
Vokara Che
I needed a scientist. For this role, which will become important in future chapters, I didn’t want an Original Character, so I used our favorite healer. She was a Master Healer, but moved over to Life Sciences. Simple as that. She’s my hero, always.

Yoda
Yoda is Yoda, wise, caring, set in his ways.
Yoda is also a speed demon. You don’t think that Grogu is an outlier, do you? And Yaddle is also a menace, under her lace collar.
In canon, he had a custom fitted Aethersprite, appropriate for a War General. In this timeline, Master Yoda flies a Razor Crest, because why not? The Order acquired it new for the Grand Master. Why shouldn’t he have something nice?

That’s it for this week. Sorry not sorry for the cliffhanger.
