There are very specific things Neal misses about his life in New York (and Peter, Elizabeth and the Harvard Crew are not things, they’re people). At the top of the list are his suits - Byron’s suits. The clothing is more than just armor, or part of the legend that is Neal Caffrey. They’re an intrinsic part of who he is.
Neal is finally able to return to New York, to pick up the threads of his life again. It’s a strange moment - so unexpected, so perfect that it leaves him raw, flayed, at the edge of his emotions. There’s paperwork, of course. He’s back on the anklet, of course.
When it’s done and Peter takes him back to June’s and makes a very reluctant farewell, and June says goodnight, Neal has his own special reunion with his suits.
The closet smells of camphor and clean wool and shoe polish, with a slight hint balsam. The fragrance is enough to make him just a little hard. Neal doffs his shirt and slips on the jacket to the gray Devore, and he moans. The silk lining against his bare skin feels so good. He takes off his pants and the brush of the cuff against his cock is just incredible. He rubs himself again and again.
But he’s mindful. Sweat and come are not good for the wool-silk blend. The jacket goes back onto the hanger and Neal and his hard-on are left hanging.
He sinks down to the floor, looking up at the rows of beautiful suits. This is just as good. He strokes himself hard, fast and his panting breath fills the small room. Neal closes his eyes and his mind is filled with dark wool and pinstripes as he comes in his fist.

Date: 2012-05-03 09:04 pm (UTC)The short rundown on the show is this:
Neal Caffrey (the stupendously gorgeous man in my journal header and icon) was once the world's greatest con man.
Peter Burke is the FBI agent who finally caught him.
Neal was arrested and convicted of bond forgery, and sentenced to four years in prison. He escaped with just three months left because his girlfriend, Kate, left him. Peter recaptured him almost immediately.
Rather than serve another 4 years in prison for the escape, they strike a bargain - Neal works for the FBI for four years as an embedded criminal informant (a "consultant"), and wears a GPS tracking anklet.
At the end of the third season, after many machinations and twists and turns, it looks like Neal is about to be given his freedom 2 years earlier than expected. But STUFF HAPPENS and Peter tells Neal to run.
Now - the dynamic between Peter and Neal is very much like that of Lewis and Hathaway, except that Neal is, well, the world's best con man - a social engineer almost without equal. He's got some impulse control problems too. He's not Hathaway - and Peter isn't Robbie Lewis, but there are striking similarities between the characters and the way they play off of each other. From early on, in WC, the characters invade each other's personal lives - go to each other's homes, hang out together.
The are as much friends as partners.
The stories are generally less angsty than Lewis, if simply that they aren't murder stories.
I do think you'd enjoy it.

Date: 2012-05-08 12:19 pm (UTC)I've been told that White Collar has been on TV here but not for a while. Apparently the first two series have been released on DVD so will have to check out the local DVD library and see if they have it. :)
