Not real people, no. But an episode of MI-5 gave me the idea about using the Gmail drafts folder. In that ep, terrorists were communicating by a single account and updating their plans in a draft email.
9: Were there any alternate versions of this fic?
Hmmm, when I originally worked out the idea, Peter and Neal had never met again - Peter just got the email with slightly more explicit instructions. I found that too sad.
