33,285 words, give or take. Actually, it's about a thousand words less because my word processor counts each HTML tag as three words, but still not bad. Started it on January 10th, so it's possible (but unlikely) that I might have gotten it to 50k with a full month of writing.
I figure the meta for the story will be about another 2k or so, but that will have to wait until after the authors are revealed. I don't want to include the meta in the fic or in the end notes, I want to put it here, to be read after the story is done. I'm also kind of inspired to do some artwork.
All in all, I am pleased. My recipient had some very specific wants and with one or two exceptions, I was able to write all of them into a single story. I just hope she enjoys the reading as much as I've enjoyed the writing.
