Ride, Sally Ride: 1951 - 2012
Jul. 23rd, 2012 10:02 pmSally Ride, one of my heroes, died today. The cause was pancreatic cancer.
I remember watching her press conferences before her first shuttle flight. She was the epitome of grace under pressure.
And for those of you too young to remember, Sally Ride was the first American woman to go into space. She rode on the Challenger in June, 1983. At the time, Dr. Ride was also the youngest American ever to go into space.
